Have you ever seen a home with its own closet steamer? Selling Sunset Season 8 just dropped on Netflix and despite them featuring multiple mansions this was the coolest feature I saw.
I’ve reported on over the top closet design before (you can read that here) but this could actually be useful.
I don’t personally own anything expensive enough to need regularly dry cleaning but I know many professionals do. Imagine if you could simply press a button and dry clean your clothes at home at the end of the day.

I’m not sure what brand and model was on Selling Sunset but I did find a listing online for something that sounds similar. The LG Styler Steam Closet mentions features such as:
- Chemical free steaming technology to sanitise, deodorise and refresh;
- 3 hangers that move and shake to remove dust and allergens such as pollen;
- Fast and gentle heat drying for delicate clothes;
- Wi-fi enabled so you can check your cycle status from anywhere.
If these features perform as they say they do there’s a lot of benefits to having one installed. Not only less wrinkled, better looking clothes but the benefit of sanitisation and allergen removal.
How effective is the sanitisation technology? Could this be something medical personnel, such as administrative staff, use on clothes that don’t necessarily require professional cleaning but could be a little icky all the same?
I worked reception in a dental clinic and there were a few times something like this would have given me piece of mind that my clothes were truly cleaned of bodily fluids.
The LG Steam Closet also states it has exclusive technology to remove dust, pollen and pet dander via shaking hangers. Which sounds a little ridiculous honestly. But, if true, could be a game changer for families affected by severe allergies because these particles are often difficult to see and remove.
All these features sound expensive and exclusive but you can grab one (of any brand not just LG) for your house for around $1,300.
Will this become a standard feature in the future?
