754/756 N Stonehill Ct, Ozark, Missouri is the sort of house Tarzan and Jane would live in if they were real people and super rich. As if being a mansion among the treetops wasn’t cool enough, the interior will transport you to the world of an eclectic Victorian scientist.

Take this picture for example. The stuffed animals mounted to the walls, the greenery seemingly spilling in from the outside, the wood detail and hanging lantern style chandelier. This isn’t a home, it’s a movie set.
And I think it’s these 6 features that make it feel so magical:
1. Cathedral Ceilings

In what I’m calling the Great Room (it’s the only word that is fitting. If you look closely at the furniture groupings you get a sense of just how huge this room is. I mean there’s an entire canoe suspended along one wall) is the most stunning ceilings I have ever seen. This room could have easily been overtaken by the excess of dark and moody wood but because there are so many windows the natural light balances out the dark and enhances the details.
2. Unique Fireplace

This feature is also in the Great Room and incredibly holds its own against the many focal points fighting for attention around it. In any other house it would be a feature wall but in this home it’s just a bit of added character. I honestly can’t tell you why this fireplace stands out to me so much other than it reminds me of something that would be in a Disney Princess’s bedroom.
3. Stained Glass

Stained glass is an art that is rarely seen in residences anymore. In this home especially it adds a nice injection of colour and is a permanent reminder of its heritage. Most of the decorative glass is accompanied by huge skylights that ensure plenty of natural light is also filling the room.
4. Circular Covered Porch

My second favourite part of the house (I’m saving the best for last) is this beautiful viewing deck. The picture speaks for itself, you’re floating above the world, complete with unobstructed sunrise views. And it’s completely covered. I can imagine curling up here and reading in a rainstorm.
5. Outdoor Fireplace

Either I really love fireplaces or this house just has 2 really show stopping ones. What I love about this alfresco dining area is you have views on the other side and to keep you warm is a 2 storey tall exposed brick fireplace and chimney. It’s a feature you don’t see often and perfect for entertaining.
6. Swinging Rope Bridge

When I saw it listed in the description I assumed it was small and probably less than a foot off the ground. But no, this is a genuine swinging rope bridge, suspended above a waterfall ravine too. It looks straight out of a fairytale.
While I loved the views, wooden beams and exposed brick not everything was magical. Some of the rooms had very low ceilings. It could have been the picture, and some might call it cozy, but it looked a little claustrophobic.
However, the biggest disappointment was the bathrooms (the stained glass picture above is one of the bathrooms). They were quaint, very true to their heritage, some of the toilets even looked to have the original mechanism from 1974. I just hate tubs, especially clawfoot tubs, so I couldn’t use them everyday (I’m too spoiled by modern bathrooms!) but I see how they fit aesthetically.
